What Is a Bernedoodle?
The Bernedoodle is a companion dog, through and through. This designer breed is a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle, combining the intelligence of the Poodle with the charming, goofy, happy-go-lucky temperament of the Bernese. Bernedoodles are happiest when they’re spending time with their families—children included—and are willing participants in playtime and cuddle fests alike.
The breed itself is relatively new, first intentionally developed in the early 2000s to create a loyal, family-focused companion dog.

A true “in-between” size with more substance than a Mini
★ Height: ~21–25 inches
★ Weight: ~50–70 lbs

Important Note on Bernedoodle Sizes: Because Bernedoodles are a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, size can vary even within the same litter. Genetics, generation (F1, F1b, etc.), and parent sizes all play a role.

Curly coats → lowest shedding, best for allergy sufferers
Wavy coats → moderate shedding
Straight coats → higher shedding
